A column in the New York Post criticizes the American Girl doll company for selling a doll named Gwen, who the columnist refers to as ‘homeless.’ The column accuses American Girl of political preaching and sending kids “the wrong message.” American Girl says the doll is part of a story about bullying–not homelessness–and that the doll is not homeless, though she had been at one point in her life.
