Grace Period Registration & Voting

You have a few more days to

REGISTER & VOTE EARLY

in the 2008 Presidential Election!

A new state law called “Grace Period Registration & Voting” allows
people to register & vote through Tuesday, October 21.

Registration & voting for Chicago residents must be done at the
Chicago Board of Elections’ Loop office, at 69 West Washington (6th
floor).

For suburban Cook County residents, registration & voting is
available at 69 West Washington (5th floor), or at any of the suburban
Cook County courthouses.

People who register this way must vote immediately, in the same city or county office, after they complete their registration.

Homeless people can register & vote, too! Anyone (housed or
homeless) who participates in grace period voting must bring 2 forms of
identification:
· A government-issued ID with your photo
on it, such as a state ID card, driver’s license or passport. It does
not need to show your current address in the shelter.

· A piece of postmarked mail addressed to
you & received by you at the shelter where you are now living.

· If you have other forms of ID available, bring them with you as additional backup.

You can register & vote at these times:
· Monday thru Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (8:30 a.m. in Cook County)

· Sunday, 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

Grace period voting ends 5 p.m. next Tuesday. People who register
through this final grace period cannot vote another day, including
Election Day.
